below are some random peices of illustration, photography and animation. i will update this page periodically so check back in.
this is a work in progress. the goal was to learn how to animate fire and smoke.
i have been drawing likenesses of coworkers for years. it all started back when working on an assembly line. it was a way to pass time. i would bring in a printout of a likeness that i refined in illustrator and would hand it off to a fellow line worker who had access to one of the plant photocopiers. he would run off about 50 copies and tape them up on car carriers. the art work would make it's way around the plant. it was great to here the laughs as a drawing of "charlie horse" or "frankie the gingerbread man" made it's way down the line. i remained anonymous for a few years which was safer. not everyone was a willing portrait. there were other fellow underground artists with handles like "filter man".
this was a photo i shot from the 11th floor of the wanamaker building in philly during winter. the 11th floor was being gutted by the company i was working at and i had free reign to take photos. i used photoshop and an easy technique of lens blurring parts of the scene and pushing the color saturation to make the scene look like a fake model set. i later shot a photo of a cheap godzilla toy and clipped and added it into the scene.
this piece was created using cinema 4d and using an hdr image for reflections. there was no purpose other than to learn more about modeling and shading.
